He married Lydia Elizabeth Shanofelt June 14, 1896 in Marion Co., IL. Lydia was born August 6, 1879 in Marion Co., IL. Lydia was the daughter of Samuel Shanofelt and Mary Coleman. Lydia died January 20,1972 in Marion Co., IL.

10623 iii. Ora Odell Phillips was born in IL January 1, 1900. Ora died June 11, 1969. He married Lucile Marguerite Evans June1940. Lucile was born December 31, 1905 in Council Grove, Morris Co., KS. Lucile was the daughter of J. Wilson Evans and Pearl Turner. Lucile died March 12, 1998 in Storm Lake, Buena Vista Co., IA. OBIT: Lucile Phillips, the daughter of Dr. J. Wilson Evans and Pearl Turner Evans, was born Dec. 31, 1904 at Council Grove, Ks. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed in the Congregational Church in Pocatello, Id. She received a music degree from Kansas State University in 1926 and a Master's Degree in educational psychology at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1936. She taught school several years. In June 1940 she was united in marriage to Odell Phillips. They farmed at Cleghorn, before buying a farm south of Rembrandt in 1951. She became a member of the United Methodist Church in Rembrandt. She was a member of the P.E.O. sisterhood Chapter G.J. Sioux Rapids. Those who preceded her in death are her parents, a twin sister, Dorothy Faye Evans, a brother Harold Evans and her husband Odell Phillips.
