Born in Franklin County on July 3, 1922, he was the son of the late William and Ruby Welborn Jordan. He worked as a salesman and was a member of the Royston Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Jordan was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Air Force Association. He was preceded in death by his, wife, Marian Stribling Jordan; and a son, Austin Sterling Jordan, Jr.
Survivors include a son, Mike Jordan, Hartwell; brother, Lewis Jordan, Royston; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 12, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Kaiser officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
He married Marian Belle Stribling. Marian was born May 24, 1929 in Walnut Grove, GA. Marian was the daughter of Charles O. Stibling and Nobie E Thornton. Marian died June 13, 1998 in Franklin Co., GA.
