He married Gwen Louise Johnson December 17, 1944 in Waco, McLennan Co, TX. Gwen was born December 12, 1926 in DeLeon, Comanche Co, TX. Gwen was the daughter of Archie Melton Johnston and Bessie Adeline Field.

Leonard Pershing Wood and Gwen Louise Johnson had the following children:
