OBIT: Bob King Parks, RPh, 68 years old, owner of Mississippi Discount Drugs in Clinton, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at
Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of First Baptist Church,
Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Thursday, March 10, 2011, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS and
again Friday at 12 noon just prior to the 1:00 service at the church. Graveside service will be at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson.
Bob Parks was born on July 5, 1942 in Philadelphia, MS to Norman Lee and Ruba King Parks, who preceded him in death. He is
survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Sandra Brocato Parks; his three sons, Cary Lee Parks (Tina), David King Parks (Kacy), and Bradley
Brocato Parks (Molly), all of Clinton; seven grandchildren Taylor, Peyton, Kaylee, Christian, and Manning Parks of Clinton and Tim and Nik
Knight, also of Clinton; sister, Elizabeth Pigott (Ed) of Ellijay, GA; brother-in-law, Raymond Brocato (Cecile); and sister-in-law, Marcia
Maynard, Homestead, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob Parks graduated from Philadelphia High School in 1960, where he was
an officer in the Adam Byrd Society and traveled with the Lions Band for performances two different years to both Chicago and New York City.
He received his pharmacy degree from the University of Mississippi in 1965. While at the University of Mississippi, he was an ATO and served
as vice president of Kappa Psi, pharmaceutical fraternity. After working in Jackson as a pharmacist for 11 years, Bob opened the Clinton
location of Mississippi Discount Drugs where he thoroughly enjoyed serving his customers for 35 years. Also during this same period, Bob
served on the National Advisory Board for McKesson as its chairman for several years. He served his community as president of the
Mississippi Computer Society, and as a member of the Clinton Boulevard Business District Committee of Main Street Clinton. Bob
Parks was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Jackson. His great love was his family. He developed a deep love of music playing in
the Lions Band during his high school years. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling whether at home or abroad including a mission trip to Russia.
