Wendell died May 12, 2002 in Nashville, Berrien Co., GA. NASHVILLE -- Wendell H. Wood, 78, of Nashville, died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at Berrien County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Nashville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard Trawick and the Rev. Tegler Greer will officiate. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. today at Bethel Cemetery in Turner County.
Born Aug. 26, 1923, in Turner County, Mr. Wood was the son of William David Wood and Florence Biggers, both deceased.
A U.S. Marines veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the South Pacific, he was a retired agent of the Berrien County Agricultural Extension Office and a member of Nashville United Methodist Church.
Mr. Wood was also a member and past commander of the Nashville Post VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Elizabeth Waldrop Wood of Nashville; one son, Holmes Wood of Roswell; three sisters, Christine Wood of Decaur, Dura Kate McGill of Cordele and Ruby Mauldin of Ashburn; and one brother, W. D. Wood of Ashburn.
