He married Almeda Davenport August 21, 1858 in Scott Twp, Mahasha Co., IA. Almeda was born July 5, 1841 in Gallia Co., OH. Almeda died March 24, 1914 in Bend, Crook Co., OR. Alemda is buried in the Ivy Green Cemetery, Bremerton, Kitsap Co., WA

Varney Jackson Allgood and Almeda Davenport had the following children:

 550 ii. John Albert Allgood was born in Mahaska Co., IA February 8, 1862. John died aft 1943 in Salina, Saline Co., KS. He married Fayette (Faye) Johnson 1909 in Westonm Marathon Co., WI. Fayette was born 1886 in Westonm Marathon Co., WI.

 551 iii. Laura Effie Allgood was born September 28, 1867.

 552 iv. Martha Susanna Allgood was born October 26, 1871.

 553 v. Mary Alice Allgood was born September 18, 1878.

 554 vi. Margaret Maude Allgood was born August 1, 1884.
