He married twice. He married Martha E. Furnald January 22, 1880. He married Cora M. Crill February 11, 1889. One record shows marriage date of February 22,1880. 1900 Census shows couple married 7 years.

Cora was born December 1875 in Keokuk, Warren Co., IA. Cora was the daughter of George T. Crill and Effie J. (__).

Samuel Padgett and Cora M. Crill had the following child:

 2456 i. Lulu⁹ Padgett was born in Keokuk, Warren Co., IA April 1894.
