27. William (Pikey) Henry5 Allgood (William John4, Edward3, William2, Edward1 Algood) was born in Amelia Co., VA April 22, 1761. William died October 7, 1847 in Surry Co. NC. William is buried in the Allgood Cemetery, Old Stage Road , Yadkin Co., NC
He married twice. He married Susanna Royal abt 1785. Susanna was born abt 1762 in Baskenville, Meclenberg Co., VA. He married Sarah Royal March 5, 1790 in Mecklenburg Co., VA. Sarah was born abt 1760 in Amelia Co., VA. Sarah was the daughter of John Royal and Susannah Bates. Sarah died aft 1848 in Surry Co., NC. Sarah was buried in the Allgood Cemetery, Old Stage Road , Yadkin Co., NC From the Revolutionary War pension application # S41408, we know that William Allgood enlisted n Virginia, the place not shown, on 11 November 1776, for three years in Capt.Isaac Hicks' Company, Col. Screveb's Georgia Regiment; his service extended through September 1, 1781. He was allowed a pension of $8.00 per month on application executed on February 13,1828, at which time he was 67 years old and a resident of Surry Co., N. C. In 1828, his wife and four daughters were living with him; their names are not given and no other family information is found in the papers on this claim. On 23 September 1933 the Old North State Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Winston Salem, North Carolina place a large stone and marker at the grave site of William at the Allgood Cemetery on Old Stage Coach Road in Yadkin County. 61 iii. Elizabeth Allgood was born in Moxksville, Davidson Co., NC Abt 1788. The 1850 Census of Orange Co., IN shows Elizabeth born in NC and James in VA Elizabeth died 1850 in Orange Co., IL. She married twice. She married James Smith JR June 12, 1834 in Orange Co., IN. James was born 1777 in Baskenvile, Mechlemberg Co. VA. James was the son of Martin Smith and Jo Hannah Stevens. James died December 24, 1850 in Orange Co., IN. She married an unknown person January 31, 1849 in Orange Co., IN.
62 iv. Rebecca Allgood was born May 3, 1789.
63 v. James Allgood was born 1790.
64 vi. Peter Allgood was born 1791.
William (Pikey) Henry Allgood and Sarah Royal had the following children:
65 vii. Elizabeth 1 Allgood was born 1786. Elizabeth died 1850 in Orange Co., IN. She married James Smith. James was born October 25, 1778 in Greenbier, VA. James died February 25,1862 in Orange Co., IN.
66 viii. Joseph Royal Allgood was born 1790.
67 ix. Wyatt Allgood was born 1790.
68 x. Henry Robert Allgood was born May 7, 1800.
69 xi. Lettie Allgood was born 1809.
70 xii. Obedience Allgood was born in Surry Co., NC bef 1813. Obedience died abt 1832. She married Elias Allen Joyner November 4, 1826 in Surry Co. NC. Elias was born abt 1810 in Surry Co., NC.
