He married Ida M. Schottsman. Ida was born June 1875 in Keokuk, Warren Co., IA.

Joseph Henry Harris and Ida M. Schottsman had the following child:

 13443 i. Iva May¹⁰ Harris was born in KS February 1889. The 1900 census shows Iva as adopted. Iva died December 1969.
