Arleva died April 16, 1993 in Ottumwa, Wapello Co., IA. Arleva Pearl Palmer, 86, formerly of 417 S. Milner, Ottumwa, Iowa died at 1:35 p.m. April 16, 1993 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. She was born November 12, 1906 in Frankfort, Kansas to Alonzo and Ella Greenlee Ham. He married Clyde E. Palmer on July 5, 1927 in Canon City, Colorado, He died Dec. 1, 1968. She was a homemaker and lived most of her married life in Ottumwa. She was a member of Ottumwa Baptist Temple. She is survived by two sons, Dean L. of Ottumwa and Richard L. of Vancouver, Washington: a daughter Patricia Leinhauser of Ottumwa: nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Phiebe Horton of Phoenix, Arizona, Lucinda Kirkland of Englewood, Colorado, and Ella Garner of Florence, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Robert; three brothers; and two sisters. Graveside services and burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa, the Rev. Greg Lockett of Ottumwa Baptist Temple officiating. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. today at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Ottumwa. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Wapello County Historical Society.

She married Clyde Elwood Palmer July 5, 1927 in Cannon City, Freemont Co. CO. Clyde was born December 23, 1907 in Davis Co., IA. Clyde was the son of James Rufus Palmer and Mabel Rowell. Clyde died December 1, 1968 in Ottumwa, Wapello Co., IA. Clyde E. Palmer, 60, of 417 S. Milner, died at Ottumwa Hospital Sunday, December 1, 1969 at 4:30 p.m. following an illness of several weeks. He had been an employee of John Deere Ottumwa works for 23 years prior to his retirement on Sept. 1 of this year. He was the son of James and Mabel Rowell Palmer, born in Davis County near Eldon, December 23, 1907. He had been an Ottumwa resident for the past 35 years. He married Arleva P. Ham on July 5, 1927 in Canon City, Colorado. She survives as do three sons, Robert M. Palmer of Seattle, Washington, Dean L Palmer of Ottumwa, and Richard L Palmer of Atlantic; one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Leinhauser of Ottumwa: nine grandchildren; his mother, Mrs Mabel Palmer of Ottumwa; two brothers, James M. and Jack Palmer both of Ottumwa; two sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Nelson of Canon City, Colorado and Mrs. Lenora Hampshire of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his father in 1965 and by one brother, William in 1961. The body is at Johnson Funeral Chapel awaiting completion of arrangements.

Clyde and Arleva are buried at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Ottumwa, Iowa. Garden of Ascension Lot 106 space 7 & 8
