He married Emily Sue Willis February 10, 1929 in Madisonville, Monroe Co., TN. Emily was born April 27, 1906 in Atlanta, Fulton Co., GA. Emily was the daughter of Joseph Roy Willis and Tempie C. Easterling. Emily died August 29, 2002 in Brandon, Hillsborough Co., FL. Obit: Emily Willis Peeler, 96, of Brandon, Fl, passed away Thursday August 29, 2002. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Scott L. Peeler, Sr. Survivors include one son, Scott L Peeler, Jr. of Valrico, Fl; one daughter Barbara P. Johnson of Seffner, Fl; two grandchildren, Dr. Charles H. Johnson, Jr and his wife Kathy of Clermont, Fl, and Gary R. Johnson and his wife Lisa of Lithia,Fl; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A native of Atlanta, Ga., she moved to this area from Knoxville,Tn. in 1974. She was a member of the Seffner First United Methodist Church, Brandon Senior Citizen's Group, Tampa Area Camellia Society,AARP of Brandon, charter memer of The Tampa Bay History Center and a former member of the Tampa Historical Society. Funeral services will be held at the Stovers Brandon Chapel Saturday, August 31, 2002 at 2 p. m. The family will receive friends from 12 p. m. to 2 p. m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to : The Peeler american Indian Scholarship Fund., c/o USF Foundation, Gibbons alumni Center, 4202 E. Fowler Ave., Tampa, Fl 33620.
