William died April 5, 2006 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Co., OK. Obit: William Reford Raper, age 92, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at an Oklahoma City hospital after a short period of declining health. He was born Dec. 21, 1913, in Milburn to Arthur and Maggie (Peeler) Raper and grew up in the Milburn area. He lived most of his adult life in Oklahoma and moved to Wheatland in 1959. He worked many years for the city of Oklahoma City retiring as a supervisor in the maintenance department. He was a member of Wheatland United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Anna Lee, daughter and son-in-law Carole Jean and Bill Carson, and one great-great-grandson, Parker Allen Koepke. Survivors include one daughter Marlene June Garner and husband Del of Galt, Calif., seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to R.O.O.F. (day refuge for the homeless), P.O. Box 1067, Enid, OK 73702. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2006, in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at McNeil?s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, with interment following in the El Reno Cemetery, El Reno, OK.
He married twice. He married Anna Lee (___). Anna was born April 16, 1927. Anna died September 3, 2000 in Wheatland, Oklahoma Co., OK. He married Billie Cecile Lorance February 7, 1931 in Tishomingo, Johnston Co, OK. Billie was born August 16, 1913 in Bonham, Fannin Co, TX. Billie was the daughter of Will Lorance and Effie (___). Billie died September 30, 1989 in Enid, Garfield Co., OK.
