Perry died January 9, 2005 in Hannibal, Pike Co., MO. Obit: Perry Rosenburg, 93, of Paris and formerly of the Hannibal/Louisiana area, passed away Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at Smith Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Tom Day will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Military rites will be conducted at graveside by Emmette J. Shields Post 55, The American Legion.
Visitation will be from noon until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Rosenburg was born Aug. 27, 1911, in Hannibal, the son of Fred and Edith Rosenburg. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Paul) Rosenburg; and sisters, Madeline Stewart and Dorothy Hinkle; and an infant brother, Ivan Frederick Rosenburg.
Survivors include brother, Dale Rosenburg and wife, Peggy, of Greentown, Pa.; son, Michael Rosenburg and wife, Cynde, of Paris, and their children, Michael R. Rosenburg and wife, Diana, (and their son, Ethan), Bill Rosenburg and Kimberly Rosenburg; son, Paul Rosenburg and wife, Cheryl, of Louisiana, and their children, Craig Rosenburg and wife, Liz, (their children, Ashten, Brant, Patricia and Roy Paul), Kristina Rosenburg and fiancé, Brandon Brazier, Kelly Mills and husband, Stephen, of Louisiana (their daughter, Stephanie); daughter, Sandy (Rosenburg) Roth and husband, Phil, of Farmington, and their children, Lynn Roth and Lisa (Roth) Jackson and husband, Adam; and daughter, Ruth Ann (Rosenburg) Hagan of Chillicothe, and sons, Samuel Wayne Hagan and Eric Edmond Hagan; and many wonderful and dearly loved nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Rosenburg was a 1929 graduate of Hannibal High School. He was also a lifelong member of the Oakwood Christian Church. He served overseas from 1941-1945 in the Normandy Conflict during World War II as staff sergeant in the MPs of the 79th Infantry. He earned various medals, including the Distinguished Service Award for the Normandy Invasion. He was a farmer, carpenter and tax consultant in the Frankford/Ashburn/Louisiana area for many years. His carpentry work included Huck Finn Shopping Center, Cyanamid and Mark Twain Lake. He loved to travel and visit relatives and friends all across the United States.
Memorials may be made to the Oakwood Christian Church.
Pallbearers will be sons, Michael Rosenburg and Paul Rosenburg; and grandsons, Michael R. Rosenburg, Craig Rosenburg, Bill Rosenburg and Lynn Roth.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Samuel Hagan, Eric Hagan, Ethan Rosenburg, Roy Paul Rosenburg and Brant Dugan.
He married Mary Jane (Elizabeth) Paul. Mary was born 1915.
