Alva died March 19,2008 in Columbus, Bartholomew Co., IN. OBIT: Alva D. Nolting, 97, of Columbus died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Norman Funeral Home, 604 Main St. in Hope.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.
He married Katheryn Isabelle Newton September 10, 1932 in IN. Katheryn was born March 12, 1914 in Columbus, Bartholomew Co., IN. Katheryn was the daughter of Aaron C Newton and Effie Lorts. Katheryn died August 28, 2007 in Columbus, Bartholomew Co., IN. OBIT: Katheryn I. Nolting of Columbus, Indiana died Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. She was 93.
Born March 12, 1914, in Bartholomew County, she was the daughter of Aaron C. and Effie (Lorts) Newton.
She married Alva D. Nolting on Sept. 11, 1932, and he survives.
Other survivors include her daughter, Lu Ann (husband, Carl) Harlow of Columbus; sons, Jack A. (wife, Sandra) Nolting of Columbus; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Maurice Newton, John Newton, Lennie Newton and Homer Newton; and sisters, Gail Newton, Mary Chrissman, Lessie McIntyre and Delta Wilkens.
Mrs. Nolting was a former Shelby County resident.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Nolting was a member of First Baptist Church in Hope, Clifty Home Extension Club, Columbus Senior Center, where she was a member of the bowling club.
Funeral services were Saturday, September 1st at Norman Funeral Home, 604 Main St. in Hope, Indiana, with Bob Sanders officiating.
Burial: Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus, IN
Alva Dale. Nolting and Katheryn Isabelle Newton had the following children:
