Ida died June 24, 2011 in OceanSide, San Diego Co., CA. OBIT: Ida Jean Whitmore, 84 OCEANSIDE -- Ida Jean Whitmore passed away Friday, June 24, 2011. She was born January 29, 1927 in Wichita, Kansas, daughter of George and Ida Claude Hasty. Ida went to East High High School in Wichita, Kansas. She studied Liberal Arts at Wichita State University. She lived in Wichita, Kansas until 1962 when she moved to Tulsa, Okla. From Tulsa, she moved to Seal Beach, Calif., in 1986, and lastly to Oceanside, Calif., in 1991 until her death. Ida was a wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent artist: loved drawing, painting, and sculpting. She was charming, loving, bright, caring, bubbly, and fun to be around. A devout Jehovah's Witness, she was a woman of strong faith. Ida married Jarvis Harvey Whitmore on August 25, 1959. He passed away February 12, 2006. She had five children: Cynthia Lanclos, George Allan (D), Shirley Sherrill, Catherine Whitmore, William Whitmore; ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, July 1st, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, with burial to follow. Brother Harold Widener will officiate.
She married Jarvis Harvey Whitmore August 25, 1959. Jarvis died February 12, 2006.
