He married twice. He married Elizabeth Jane (Betty) Hosford January 9, 1855. Elizabeth was born 1839 in NC. Elizabeth was the daughter of John Carter Horsford and Mary Jane Cobb. Elizabeth died January 11, 1869 in Linn Co., MO. He married Martha Ann Temple 1869 in Linn Co., MO.
