Elmer died May 12, 1999 in Milledgeville, Baldwin Co., GA. OBIT: Elmer L. Jackson, 81, of 85 Edwards Circle died Wednesday, May 12,1999. A lifelong resident of Clarke County, Mr. Jackson was a son of the late Ralph and Annie Allgood Jackson. He was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church and was a retired salesman from Huggins Auto Parts. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Oconee Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Ricketts officiating. Survivors include his wife, Cleatus Abercrombie Jackson; adaughter, Anna Woodall, Watkinsville; a son, Mike Jackson, Watkinsville; a sister, Mary Frank Whitehead, Athens; three grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He married Cleatus Vaughn Abercrombie May 10, 1942 in Greenville Co., SC. Cleatus was born August 7,1919 in Lumpkin Co., GA. Cleatus was the daughter of Joe Abercrombie and Dovie Anderson. Cleatus died Octobe 11, 2006 in High Shoals, Oconee Co., GA. OBIT: Mrs. Cleatus V. Jackson, 87, passed away on October 11, 2006. A native of Lumpkin Co., Georgia, she lived in Athens most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Dovie Anderson Abercrombie. She was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church. She was a school crossing guard for Clarke Co. for a number of years.Mrs. Jackson is survived by a daughter and son-in-law; Anna and Kenneth Woodall of Bishop, Ga., son and daughter-in-law; Mike and Donna Jackson of Watkinsville, Ga., sister; Susie Edwards of Dahlonega, Ga. brother; Clarence Abercrombie of Dahlonega, Ga., three grandchildren; Mike Woodall, Scott Jackson and Brantley Jackson; five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.A graveside service will be held Friday, October 13, 2006 at 11:00 AM in Oconee Hill Cemetery with Rev. Tony Vismor officiating.
