She married Russell E. Layton. Russell was born December 7, 1941. Russell died January 29, 2004 in Spartanburg, Spartanburg Co., SC. OBIT: Russell E. Layton, Sr., 62, of 446 Ted Smith Road, Rutherfordton, NC, and formerly of Woodruff, died Thursday, January 29, 2004 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born December 7, 1941 in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Jerry Layton and Eunice Lucille Hostetler West Waddell. He was the husband of the late Toni Bailey Layton. He was a retired brick mason, and of the Baptist faith, and a HeJaz Shriner. Mr. Layton was a veteran of the Army National Guard. Survivors include a son, Rusty E. Layton, Jr. of Rutherfordton, NC; two daughters, Sharon Podsiad of Mayo, SC and Lisa Layton of Boiling Springs, SC; two brothers, Michael Hall of Enoree, SC and Roy Lee West of Spartanburg, SC; three sisters, Brenda Morgan and Karen Stokes of Greenville, SC and Alice Pack of Spartanburg; four grandsons, Neil and Tyler Podsiad, Cody Atkins and Raine Layton; two granddaughters, Tabitha and Tiffany Bradburn; and several great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2004 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Cox.
