Dewey died June 3, 2012 Walton Co., GA. OBIT: Dewey Mathis of Jersey, GA, passed away June 3, 2012, at the age of 65. He enjoyed spending time with his family and working in the yard. Dewey is loved, and will be missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Mathis and Mildred Coker.Survivors include his wife, Dianne Mathis of Jersey, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Sam Racster; grandchildren, Matalin and Dylan Racster, all of Portland, IN; sisters, Vonnie Crowe of Oxford, Jeanne Baumgardner of Rock Hill, SC; brothers, Bobby Mathis of Rock Hill, SC, Ricky Mathis of Conyers, Mark Carter of Covington, Craig Mathis of Rock Hill, SC, Barry Carter of Oxford, Larry Carter of Monroe; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Dewey will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2012, 2:00 PM, at Full Gospel Holiness Church, 3170 Highway 138 NW, in Monroe, with Pastor Larry Carter, Rev. Randell Allgood, Pastor Lynn Head, and Gary Coker officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Tuesday, June 5, from 5:00-8:00 PM.
