Louray died April 7, 2010 in Roanoke Rapids Co., NC. OBIT: Louray Stainback Mixon, 101, of Roanoke, Va., died Wednesday, April 7, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. "Bill" Mixon. Louray was a member of Crystal Spring Baptist Church, since 1948, which was the former South Roanoke Baptist Church. She was retired from PropstChildress Shoe Co. Surviving are her daughter and son-inlaw, Ann and Jerry Wilson, of Roanoke; grandsons, Allen Tate Wilson and wife, Mary Carol, of Richmond, and David Wesley Wilson and wife, Mary, of Roanoke; greatgrandchildren, Meredith Wilson and Abigail Wilson, both of Richmond, and Olivia Wilson, of Roanoke. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Crystal Spring Baptist Church or Hope Tree Family Services in Salem, Va. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 10 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010, with the Rev. John Graybill officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Burial Park.

She married William (Bill) Allen Mixon August 5, 1935 in Vance Co., NC. William was born June 3, 1911 in NC. William was the son of H. W. Mixon. William died December 7, 1996 in Roanoke Rapids Co., NC. OBIT: MIXON, William A., (''Bill''), 85, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, December 7, 1996. He was a member and Deacon Emeritus of Crystal Spring Baptist Church, the former South Roanoke Baptist Church, and was a watchmaker for many years. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Louray Stainback Mixon; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Jerry Wilson; grandsons and wife, Allen Tate and Mary Carol Wilson, David Wesley Wilson, all of Roanoke; two nephews; five nieces.
