Lonnie Eris10 Renn (Carmen L9 Tharrington, Joseph T.8, Mary A.7 Journigan, Sarah (Sallie)6 Allgood, John Bunyan5, Moses4, Edward3, William2, Edward1 Algood) was born in Franklin Co., NC September 9, 1924. IBUTL Mrs. Eris Renn Lindsay, affectionately known as “Grannyâ€, 89, of 1117 Dixie Street, Burlington died at her residence on Thursday, December 12, 2013. A native of Epsom, NC, she was the wife of 61 years to the late William David “W.D.†Lindsay and the daughter of Channie Renn and Carmen Tharrington Renn, both deceased. She moved to Burlington from Franklin County during World War II to work for Fairchild Aircraft Company and later retired from Glen Raven Mills. Eris was a faithful member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church until her illness. Survivors include four children, Rick Lindsay and wife Rose Ann of Summerfield, NC, Tim Lindsay and wife Berta of Greenville, NC, Shelia Nehls and husband Jerry of Cary, NC, Dixie Russell and husband Charlie of Graham, NC; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren,; brother, Ronald Renn and wife Laney of Epsom, NC; sister, Betsy Page Edwards and husband Talmadge of Louisburg, NC; her dearest friend and cousin, Edith Caviness and husband Grady; sister-in-law, Henrietta Renn; her dog and loving companion, Sadie; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, W. J. Renn, Harold Renn and Alridge Renn. The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Neal Salter. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Other times they will be at the residence. Lonnie died December 12, 2013.
