Ralph died September 17, 2008 in Raleigh, Wake Co., NC. OBIT: Ralph Fleming Faulkner, 75, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 13, 2008 after a brief battle with cancer. Ralph was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Ralph was born December 5, 1932 in Franklin County on the farm where he was raised. He served in the armed forces as a MP in the Korean War. Ralph worked as a machinist at Westinghouse for 35 years and also worked at ABB and BMI. After retirement, Ralph liked delivering vehicles for Capital Ford. He was a former Commander and Lifetime member of the American Legion Post 1 and a member of the 40/8. Ralph was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was an avid NASCAR fan.
Funeral Service: 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.
The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home from 12:30 to 2:00 pm and other times at the home, 3919 Butler Blvd., Raleigh, NC 27604.
Burial: Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603
Surviving: Wife of 55 years: Betty Jean Faulkner
Son: Tim Faulkner of Knightdale
Daughter: Karen Chreptak and husband, Mike of Garner
Grandson: Jerry Barbrey and wife, Jenny and their children; Dylan and Olivia of West Columbia, SC
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Bertha Murray; his daughter, Phyllis Barbrey; brother, Cleamon Faulkner and his daughter, Pam; brother, Morris Murray; sisters, Nellie Ayscue and Florene Jones.
Ralph Fleming Faulkner and Betty Jean (___) had the following children:
