Perry died April 10, 2010 in Gold Sand, Franklin Co., NC. OBIT: Perry Lee Tharrington, 78, of 180 Alert Road, died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at his home. Born in Franklin County on Jan. 22, 1932, he was the son of the late Buddy Tharrington and Lizzie Smith Tharrington.
He was the owner and operator of Tharrington’s Grocery. He was a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church, and attended High Cross Cowboy Baptist Church. He was the first chief of the Goldsand Volunteer Fire Department.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bobbitt Family Cemetery in Alert by Pastor Steve Burnette.
He is survived by his wife, Pattie Murray Tharrington of the home; three sons, Dale Tharrington, Dean Tharrington and Terry Tharrington, all of Louisburg; two sisters, Patricia T. Bobbitt of Louisburg and Rachel Tharrington of Raleigh; two brothers, Earl Tharrington of Louisburg and Wade Tharrington of Butner; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Perry Lee Tharrington and Pattie Ruth Murray had the following children:
