Dorothy died November 28, 2009. OBIT: Dorothy Owen Wallace, 76, of Mechanicsville, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 28, 2009.
Born and raised in Chase City, Va., she was a kind-hearted woman who will be remembered for her huge Christmas spirit and missed by all who knew and loved her.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother, Lona I. Owen; her father, Alfred S. Owen; her stepmother, Mary P. Owen; and her brothers, James Owen, Dan Owen, Frank Owen and Marvin Owen.
Dorothy leaves behind a great number of friends and family to cherish the beautiful life she led. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, she is survived by her husband of 58 years, Willie "Peewee" Wallace; her sons, Warren and Bruce Wallace; grandchildren, Melissa, Stephanie, Andrew, Brandon, Madison and Cole Wallace; great-grandson, Jerone Crawford; and two sisters, Betty Leeson and Thelma Brankley.
Dorothy was retired from Duron Paints and Wall coverings where she was the Regional Credit Manager for 30 years.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Bliley's - Central, 3801 Augusta Ave, where funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, December 2, 2009.
Interment will immediately follow at Signal Hill Memorial Park in Mechanicsville, Va.
Dorothy Owens and Walter Wallace had the following children:
