Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM Mountain Time, on Friday, January 30, at the First Baptist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Billy Rammage, Pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
Lois Ivey (Jennings) Palmer was born on October 7, 1945 in Knox City, Texas, to Robert Jennings and Joyce (Allgood) Jennings. They moved to Clayton when Lois was in highschool where she met and married Alvin Dale Palmer on December 22, 1961, in Raton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on May 30, 2005. They moved to California and lived in the Bay area for 16 years where she worked for Owens-Illinois Glass Company. A resident of Dalhart, Texas, since 1978, she worked for the First National Bank as a teller and later for the Citizens State Bank as a bookkeeper. Lois and Alvin Dale decorated for numerous events at the Elks Lodge and for numerous Chamber of Commerce Banquets. She was involved in the La Rita Theater in Dalhart where she served on the board and performed in “The XIT Comes of Age.” She also served on the Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce as a Dalhart Red Coat Ambassador. In addition to her husband, Lois was preceded in death by her parents and by 1 sister, Bobbie Jean Jennings.
She married Alvin Dale Palmer December 22,1961 in Raton, Colfax Co., NM. Alvin died May 30, 2005.
