Julie died December 3, 2005 in Gloucester, Gloucester Co., VA. OBIT: Josephine Daniel Ward, 90, passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, in Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. She was a native of Tutor Kay, Ky., and was the widow of John Ward Jr. and was preceded in death by her daughter, Jenny Lou Kurtz, and a son, James T. Ward.

She was a farmer's wife and worked by her husband's side farming for many years and was a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, John Roger Ward Sr. and his wife, Mo, of Hampton; five grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, in the chapel of Andrews Funeral Home by the Rev. Rita Staul. Burial will be in Windsor Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

She married John J. Ward JR. John was born July 8, 1917 in Flat Gap, Johnson Co., KY. John was the son of John J. Ward. John died May 2, 1999 in Gloucester Co., VA. OBIT: John Ward Jr., 81, of Harcum, died Sunday, May 2, 1999, in Walter Reed Convalescent Center. He had been a resident of Gloucester County since 1960. He was a retired farmer and a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Harcum Hunt Club, a member of the Van Lear, Ky., Masonic lodge since 1943, past chairman of the A.S.C.S., past member of the Gloucester-Mathews Farm Bureau, past member of the Gloucester Planning Commission and past member of the Gloucester Industrial Authority.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine Daniel Ward; a son, John Roger Ward of Hampton; a brother, Jim Ward of Van Lear, Ky.; five grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, James T. Ward; and a daughter, Jenny Lou Kurtz.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Andrews Funeral Home by the Rev. Beth-Marie R. Barnett. Burial will be in Windsor Gardens with Masonic rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Julie Josephine Daniel and John J. Ward JR had the following children:

 28886 iii. James Thomas Ward was born in Hampton, Hampton Co., VA April 21, 1948. James died August 7, 1973 in Houston, Harris Co, TX.
