He married Joyce Irene Watson December 8,1946. Joyce was born December 16, 1926 in Douglas, Montgomery Co., IA. Joyce was the daughter of George M. lWatson and Nellie Pierce. Joyce died February 11, 2013 in Atlantic, Cass Co., IA. OBIT: Joyce McConnelee, 86, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013, at the Heritage House in Atlantic. Joyce Irene Watson was born December 16, 1926, in Douglas Township, Montgomery County, Iowa, to George M. and Nellie (Pierce) Watson. Joyce graduated from Atlantic High School and the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the PTA, Atlantic Golf and Country Club and many bridge groups. On December 8, 1946, she married Ronald A. McConnelee. Preceding Joyce in death were her husband, Ronald McConnelee; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald (Betty) Watson, Maurice (Mary) Watson, Max Watson and Wayne Watson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen (Dell) Taylor, Dorothy (Cecil) Malone, Cleone (Mac) Penwell and Mae (Willard) Frazell. Surviving Joyce are her daughters, Linda (Bill) Laylin of Waterloo, IA and Connie (Doak) Jacoway of Greenwood Village, CO; brother, Richard (Gloria) Watson of Carroll, IA; sisters, Joanne (Jim) Kenefick of Atlantic, IA and Georgia (Howard) Shartner of Seattle, WA; sister-in-law, Betty Watson of Castle Rock, CO; grandchildren, Kent (Traci) McCausland and Amy (Ryan) Greve all of Waterloo, IA, Pierce (Jen) Jacoway of Castle Pines, CO and Hilary Jacoway of Denver, CO; great-grandchildren, Michael and Jenna Greve, Jay McCausland and Cooper Jacoway; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, February 18, 2013, at the Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic, Iowa.
