He married twice. He married Mary Virginia Hawkins. Mary was born June 4, 1927 in Henderson Co., KY. Mary was the daughter of Thomas M Hawkins and Lilah May Kerr. Mary died April 29,1998 in Henderson Co., KY. He married Maribel Gibson April 24,1999 in Henderson Co., KY. Maribel was born January 31, 1924 in Webster Co., KY. Maribel was the daughter of Clarence Walter Gibson and Aretha Perrish. Maribel died November 12, 2014 in Henderson Co., KY. OBIT: Maribel G. Overton, age 90, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 2:07 PM, Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Lucy Smith King Care center under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Maribel was born in 1924 to parents Clarence W. and Aretha Gibson at her home in Little Zion, Webster County. Maribel graduated from Barrett High School. At 19 she met the love of her life Robert and they were married for 51 years. Together the raised their family in Zion. She went to work at CBS Dress factory, then later at Reynolds Metals Farm as a secretary. In 1960, she started working at the Kentucky State Police Department where, after 30 years, she retired. Maribel was a member Zion Baptist Church since 1946. She was very active at her church whenever the doors were open. She enjoyed Nina Hankin’s Sunday school class. She loved gardening, especially roses. She was a major UK Wildcat fan and also enjoyed listening to gospel music. Maribel’s grandkids were her life. In addition to her parents, Maribel was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Overton and daughter Karen Denise Overton
James Walter Tillerson and Mary Virginia Hawkins had the following children:
