James Larry11 Peeler (James (Jim) Henry10, Henry Levon Wilson9, Hugh Henderson8, Wilson D.7, Sarah Jane6 Allgood, John5, Ishmael4, Edward3, William2, Edward1 Algood) was born in TN July 22,1948. James died November 9, 2013. OBI: Larry Peeler, 65, of Englewood, TN passed away early Saturday morning after a declining illness that resulted in a brief stay at Park West Medical Center in Knoxville and Athens Life Care Center.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Jim and Bernice Peeler; one brother, Steve Peeler; grandparents, Arvil and Mabel Key, and Henry and Nancy Ann Peeler.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Celeste Watts and husband, Chris; his loving grandchildren, Bryce and Cayleigh Watts all of Delano, TN; One brother and best friend, Harold and his wife Linda Peeler of Englewood, TN; nephews, Cody Peeler of Johnson City, TN and Jeff Langston of Burbank, CA.
Larry worked in industrial and commercial sheet metal fabricating for many years in occupational and management positions. He was a kind and good hearted man who always had time for a smile and conversation to all that he encountered. In his youth, Larry rode and built custom Harley-Davidson motorcycles and loved the freedom of the open road. He had a passion for trout fishing in Tellico and Hiwassee Rivers, the outdoors and camping and sharing good times with friends too lengthy to mention individually. Larry also had a passion for exploring the history and the back roads of East TN and North GA on many weekend drives. He will be sadly missed by all those that were touched by his friendship and kindness. Larry truly was a unique individual and his life will live on through his family and friends forever.
There will be no formal visitation or ceremony, but a reception to honor his life and memory will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at his home, 512 Kale Ave, Englewood, TN from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
He married Rebecca Ann Manery March 9, 1968 in McMinn Co, TN. Rebecca was born 1950. Rebecca was the daughter of Colonel Lee Manery and Ruth Phillips. Rebecca died September 14, 2015 in Etowah, McMinn Co., TN. OBIT" Rebecca Ann Peeler Akins, 65, of Etowah, passed away, Monday, September 14, 2015 at her residence in Etowah, TN.
She was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her parents, Colonel and Ruth Phillips Manery; brother, Curtis Manery; and sister, Brenda Johnson.
Rebecca loved her grandchildren, working in her flower beds, and her dog, Katy.
Survivors include daughter and sons-in-law, Celeste and Chris Watts of Delano, TB; brother, Bob Manery of Nashville, TN; sister, Wanda Pinnock of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Bryce and Cayleigh Watts; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at McMinn Memory Gardens with Rev. Mark Wade officiating.
