180. Rebecca7 Allgood (William A.6, John Young5, William4 Algood, Edward3 Allgood, William2, Edward1 Algood) was born in Walton Co., GA February 22, 1807. Rebecca died December 9, 1874 in Alexander City, Youngsville, Tallapoosa Co. AL.. Rebecca is buried with Willis D. Matthews in Sunny Level Cemetery, on Highway 63 about 3 miles North of Alex City AL.
She married Willis Dickenson Matthews September 24, 1824 in Walton Co., GA. Rebecca and Willis were married by Rev. John Moat.
Willis was born March 20, 1804 in Moore, NC. Willis was the son of Rev. James Matthews and Nancy Dickerson. Willis died June 27, 1864 in Alexander City, Tallapoosa Co., AL. Willis was known as Rev. Matthews and wa s a Methodist Minister. Information provided by F. C. Jones, states: From Rufus H. Matthews, March 23, 2000: "Willis D. was a "Circuit Rider" Methodist Minister. His father died when he was young and he went to live with or near his Uncle Willis Dicke(i)nson who no doubt was an influence into his entering the ministry. Reverend Matthews was Presiding Elder in the Methodist Church for twelve years in the Georgia Conference. In 1855, upon orders from the Methodist Church, he removed his family from Georgia and moved west to Alabama. The family settled in Tallapoosa County, AL. where he became Presiding Elder of the North Alabama Conference and (later became) an Alabama State Senator. He was an Alabama State Senator for only a short time until ill health forced him to resign

861 viii. Patrick Marshall Henry Matthews was born February 23, 1845.
