He married twice. He married Lizzie Veasey. Lizzie died July 29, 1905. He married Lizzie (Veazey) Hart 1866. Lizzie was born abt 1849 in Rome, Tallapoosa Co., AL. Lizzie died July 29, 1905.

Patrick Marshall Henry Matthews and Lizzie (Veazey) Hart had the following children:
