Homer Howard¹¹ Hutcheson (Arleigh Virdon¹⁰, Edward Bailey⁹, Ellen (Ellender)⁸ Hogue, Sarah (Sally) Hudson⁷ Allgood, William A.⁶, John Young⁵, William⁴ Algood, Edward³ Allgood, William², Edward¹ Algood) was born in Buchanan, Haralson Co., GA September 15, 1923. Homer died April 10, 2012 in Carrollton, Carroll Co., GA. OBIT: Mr. Homer “Hutch” Hutcheson, age 89, of Carrollton, Ga., passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at his residence. He was born September 15, 1922, in Buchanan, Georgia, the son of the late A. V. Hutcheson and Lula Blanche Wills Hutcheson.

Mr. Hutcheson was a 1939 graduate of Buchanan High School. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force, serving in WWII where he was captured and spent 18 months in a German Prisoner of War Camp. He later served in the Korean Conflict. His professional career ended after 25 years with the Liberty National Life Insurance Company where he served as District Manager. He had a strong and abiding Christian faith and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was a former member of the Tanner Medical Center Auxiliary.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Laura L. Hutcheson; daughter, Brenda G. Hutcheson of Buchanan; also two stepsons; grandchild, Keith Matthews; sisters, Elsa Fuller of Lithia Springs and Jan Wills of Milledgeville.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 12, 2012, at 3 p.m. from Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Bro. Doug New and Bro. Shane Roberson officiating. Pallbearers will be Wayne Perry, Donald Gibson, Dan Williams, Richard Griffin, Morgan Driver and Dennis Preston. Current and former agents of Liberty National Insurance will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with U.S. Air Force making the flag presentation.
