He married twice. He married Iris Humphrey. Iris was born 1903 in Rome, Tallapoosa Co., AL. Iris died May 1922 in Rome, Tallapoosa Co., AL. He married Loretta Higgins 1941. Loretta died 1966.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. (EDT) Wednesday, 10 Oct 2001 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Dr. Jerome King officiating.

Mr. Nealey is survived by his wife, Marjorie Meadows Nealey; two sisters-in-law, Elaine M. (Charles) Barksdale of Auburn, AL and Maude Meadows of Valley, AL; three nephews, Leslie (Donna) Meadows and Bob (Dale) Meadows, both of Valley, AL and Charles E. (Brenda) Poe of Chattanooga, TN; his niece, Rheba (Leon) Hardin of Prattville, AL; six great-nieces, Holly Hardin and Emily Poe, both of Auburn, AL, Sheri (David) Green of Atlanta, GA, Heather (Jason) Piant of Prattville, AL, Stephanie (Jason) Reynolds of Cohutta, GA and Katie Meadows of Valley, AL; his great-nephew, Drew Meadows of Valley, AL; two great-great-nieces, Davison Reynolds of Cohutta, GA and Alex Greene of Atlanta, GA; his aunt, Nellie Higgins of Pensacola, FL; his uncle, Deige Bishop of Andalusia, AL; and four cousins, Mary Lee (Doug) Lockridge of Valley, AL, Julian (Karen) Nealey of Newnan, GA, Iven (Jean) Bishop of Andalusia, AL and Linda Whitman of Pensacola, FL.

Born 2 Dec 1921 in Langdale, AL, Mr. Nealey was a veteran of World War II where he served with the 82nd Airborne in the US Army. He graduated from Livingston University and received his master's degree from The University of Alabama. He served as a teacher and counselor in many of the state's schools. He also worked for West Point Pepperell where he retired in 1985. He was a member of Langdale United Methodist Church. He was the son of the late Lorene Higgins Nealey and Edgar Nealey.
