"Funeral services for Mrs. Velma Wilkinson Fisher, 87, of Route 4, Roanoke, were Sunday, Dec. 17, 1995, at 3 p.m. from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Dr. Douglas Turner officiating. Burial was at Randolph Memory Gardens. Mrs. Fisher died Thursday, Dec. 14, at Traylor Nursing Home in Roanoke. A Randolph County native, she was born July 9, 1908, daughter of Charlie Thomas and Ludie Lucinda Viola Dean Camp Wilkinson. She was a homemaker and the widow of William Henry Fisher. Survivors include a daughter, Sue Bradley of Pensacola, Fla.; four sons, Wallace Fisher, James Fisher and Curtis Fisher, all of Roanoke, and Walter Fisher of Griffin, Ga.; a brother, Handley Wilkinson of LaGrange, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
She married William Henry Fisher 1922 in Randolph Co., AL. William was born October 10, 1903 in Roanoke, Randolph Co., AL. William was the son of Charles Henry Fisher and Lucy Viola Hodge. William died March 9, 1980 in Roanoke, Randolph Co., AL. William was buried at the was at Randolph Memory Gardens, Randolph Co., AL
