"Funeral services for Carolyn Wilkinson, 94, of Roanoke, were Sunday, June 13, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tom Russell officiating. Burial followed at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Wilkinson died Thursday, June 10, at Traylor Nursing Home. Survivors include her husband, Dwight Wilkinson of Roanoke; two daughters, Doris Wilkinson of Ft. Valley and Bettye McBride of Fairfield Day, Ark.; three sisters, Vernice Hammond, Jean Smith, and Tina Mae Smith of Roanoke; one brother, Earl Smith of Roanoke; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Wilkinson was born Oct. 10, 1909, daughter of James Monroe and Emma Whitley Smith. She was a member of Rock Mills Methodist Church and a retired teacher with Randolph County Board of Education."
