OBIT: Jerry Brian Byrd, 54, of Indianapolis, previously of Tell City, pass-ed away, Friday, March 1, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. He was born April 15, 1958, to Thomas and Norma (Hornick) Byrd, who preceded him in death. Jerry was a 1980 graduate of Tell City High School and worked for Northview Church in Carmel, where he was a member. He enjoyed bowling and watching the Indianapolis Colts. Jerry was an active advocate for people with physical disabilities. Surviving are a brother, Thomas Byrd and wife, Molly of Hardinsburg, Ky.; an uncle, Pat Alvey and wife, Glenda of Evansville; aunts Betty Byrd of Boone, Iowa, and Melba McDurmott of Mount Vernon; a niece, Erin Byrd of Hardinsburg and nephew Seth Byrd of Hardinsburg. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Kizer will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
