OBIT: - Graveside services for Billy Gene Hadaway, 74, of Kilgore, will be at 2 p.m. today, October 16, 2007, at the Kilgore Cemetery, with the Reverend Riley Pippen officiating.
Mr. Hadaway died Sunday, October 14, 2007, at his home.
Billy Gene Hadaway was born August 12, 1933, in Cove Arkansas, to parents, Gladys and Delbert Hadaway. He moved to Kilgore in 1939 at age six. He started working for his brother, Bob, in the ice business at age 14. He later worked several jobs, but lasted longest 34 years, with Tidewater-Getty-Texaco Oil as a welder. Upon retiring from Texaco, he had owned and operated the Ice House Ice Co. for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Pam; sisters, Nola, Ruby, Gol and Tuter; and brothers, Bob, J.C. and Glenn.
He is survived by his wife, Dot Hadaway of Kilgore; daughter, Sherry and husband, Jerry Walsh of Overton; daughter, Mindy and husband, Sammy Garcia of Kilgore; a son, Donny Lee of Kilgore; daughters, Trish Lambert and Cheryl Evans of Kilgore; brothers-in-law, Robert Tinney and wife, Sandra of Kilgore, Larry Tinney and wife, Regina of Wellborn, and Donald Tinney of Ochlocknee, Georgia; special friends and extended family, Steve Waters and family, and Henry and Dorothy Mitchell and family; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He married twice. He married Donnie Jeanette Ford May 14, 1961 in Kilgore, Gregg Co., TX. Donnie was born September 27, 1934.
William Gene (Billy) Hadaway and Donnie Jeanette Ford had the following children:
