He married twice. He married Jo Anne M. Schroeder November 23, 1982 in Flint, Genesee Co, MI. Jo was born Jul 5, 1929 in Flint, Genesee Co, MI. Jo died June 30, 2006 in Gamaliel, Baxter Co., AR. JoAnne M. Highfill, 76, of Gamaliel died Friday, June 30, 2006, at Ozarks Hospice House. She was born July 5, 1929, in Flint, Mich., to Harry Henry and Nellie Marie Whyte Shroeder. Mrs. Highfill worked in banking in Flint and was a developer and co-owner of 101 North Resort after moving to Gamaliel. She was a member of the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and she enjoyed traveling. Mrs. Highfill is survived by son Glenn (Renee) Cox of Gamaliel; daughter Susan (Jimmy) Fisk, of Smyrna, Tenn.; brother Allan Schroeder, of Davison, Mich.; sister Doris Strnad, of Flint; 10 grandchildren, Joshua, Rachel, Tiffany, Lindsey, Gala, Rhonda, Cory, Elisabeth, Susanna and Jessica; 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Highfill, and a special friend, Gordon "Reds" Schwind.
A reception will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Roller Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with the Rev. James Fanrak as celebrant.
Private interment will be in Maynard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Ozarks Hospice House.
