Morris was born on June 13, 1929, in Leachville, Arkansas, to the late Alvin and Mary Nolan Walker. He retired after 30 years as a truck driver. He was a born-again believer in Jesus Christ. He enjoyed fishing and going to the Golden Corral the first Saturday of every month, meeting his Teamster Union buddies for breakfast. Morris served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by two sons, Morris Paul and James Morris; brother, Melvin Walker; and sister, Lora E. Craig. Morris is survived by his wife of 56 years, Stella Marie (Masterson) Walker; seven children, Marianne Neubrunner of Austria, Rose Mary Snodgrass and her husband, Tim, of Newburgh, Ind., Anita Ann Meece and her husband, Gary, of Evansville, Ind., Janet Marie Hale and her husband, David, of Evansville, Ind., Elaine Arneson and her husband, Erik, of Evansville, Ind., Janie Holsomback and her husband, Jeff, of Evansville, Ind., and Gary Dale Walker and his wife, Sherri, of Eureka, Ind.; 28 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild on the way. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind., with Rev. Cynthia Jackson officiating. Burial is in Alexander Cemetery in Rockport, Ind. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2009, and from 8 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
He married Stella Marie Masterson January 22, 1953. Stella was born September 19,1934 in Owensboro, Daviess Co., KY. Stella was the daughter of Frank Masterson and Mabel Luttrell. Stella died May 31, 2010 in KY. OVIT: Marie Walker, 75, of Evansville, Indiana passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010 at home with her loving family beside her. Marie was born on September 19, 1934 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Frank and Mabel (Luttrell) Masterson. Marie was a homemaker for 56 years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Morris J. Walker; son, James M. Walker; siblings, James "Bud" Masterson, Mary "Tootie" Hillary Masterson. Marie is survived by her children, Rosemary Snodgrass and her husband Tim of Richland, IN; Anita Meece and her husband Gary; Janet Hale and her husband David; Elaine Arneson and her husband Erik; Janie Holsomback and her husband Jeff all of Evansville, IN; Gary Walker and his wife Sherri of Rockport, IN; stepdaughter, Marianne Neubrunner of Austria; sisters, Margaret Seaton of Casa Grande, AZ; Ruby Cates of Evansville, IN; Patty Watson of Denver, CO; Joyce Alire of Evansville, IN; also an abundance of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and their loyal dog of 15 years, Chico. Services are 11 A.M. Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Indiana with Rev. Cynthia Jackson officiating. Burial is in Alexander Cemetery in Patronville, Indiana.
