He married Dora Tabitha Reeves April 29, 1894. Dora was born May 29, 1874. Dora was the daughter of Dee Wright Reeves and Nancy Dyson. Dora died July 12, 1961 in Buncombe Co., NC. Doa was buried in the Green Hills Cemetery, AShville, NC

William Andrew Steelman and Dora Tabitha Reeves had the following children:

 12533 vi. Benjamin Franklin Steelman was born in Asheville, Buncombe Co., NC May 11, 1915. Benjamin died December 21,1943 in Italy. He married Evelyn Lee Pounders March 9, 1940. Evelyn was born October 26, 1919 in Davidson Co., TN. Evelyn was the daughter of Robert Vance Poundes. Evelyn died Se;ptember 15, 1974 in TN.

 12534 vii. Robert (Bob) Wayne Steelman was born in Buncombe Co., NC March 23, 1919. Robert died December 7, 2008 in Clyde, Haywood Co., NC. Robert Wayne Steelman of Rogers Street passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2008.

A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late William and Dora Steelman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Rogers Steelman and his five brothers and one sister. Bob served in the 303rd Engineer C. Battalion during World War II. He retired from American Enka in 1982.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2008, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Reverend Randall Tingle and Reverend James Hart officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A private burial will be at Haynes Family Cemetery in Clyde at a later date.

Robert and Hilda were buried in the Bon-A-Venture Cemetery (Haynes Family Cemetery), Canton, Haywood Co., NC He married Hilda Rogers 1960 in NC.

Hilda was born August 25, 1919 in Haywood Co., NC. Hilda was the daughter of George Fred Rogers and Hattie Fish. Hilda died August 11, 2002 in Clyde, Haywood Co., NC. OBIT: Hilda Rogers Steelman, age 82, died Sunday, August 11, 2002 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late George Fred and Hattie Fish Rogers. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Grady, Ernest and C. Hugh Rogers.

She was a member of Lake Junaluska First Baptist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

In addition to her husband of 42 years, Robert Wayne Steelman of Clyde, she is survived by a sister, Helen Rogers of Candler as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 13th at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Ray Willett officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday prior to the services at the funeral home.
