Cloide died December 15, 2010 in Potosi, Washington Co., MO. OBIT: Cloied “Sonny” Earstel Tinker of Potosi, Missouri was born on Friday, June 22, 1923 in Banner, Missouri a son of the late, Hazel M. (Fryman) Tinker and Claude E. Tinker. “Sonny” departed this life on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-seven years, five months and twenty-three days.

Cloied “Sonny” was united in marriage to Mabel Lou Nicholson on September 28, 1942 in Farmington, Missouri.

Cloied is survived by his loving wife Mabel Lou Tinker of Potosi, Missouri; one daughter, Beverly Flora and husband, Ernie of Lonedell, Missouri; one son, Larry Tinker and wife, Linda of Gilbert, Arizona; two sisters, Glenda Rowe and husband, Ed of Potosi, Missouri, Tommie Reba Rowe of Potosi, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kevin, Dana, Brent and Brad; eleven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, Jordan, Garett, Olivia, Jared, Logan, Megan, Statton, Harrison and Kai; and one great great-granddaughter, Kennadi. In addition to his parents, “Sonny” was preceded in death by four infant sisters.

Sonny served our Country in the United States Navy. He was inducted on September 4, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri and received an Honorable Discharge on December 28, 1945 from the U.S. Naval Personnel Separation Center, St. Louis, Missouri. He served in St. Louis, MO, Farragut, Idaho, San Diego, CA., Orange, Texas and on the USS Jesse Rutherford. Sonny received the Victory Medal, American Area, Asiatic Pacific, Philippine Liberation Ribbons and the Point System Discharge. He completed the schools on Sonar Operator and Sonar Maintenance.

Prior to his retirement, Sonny was employed as a Missouri State Mine Inspector. He completed the Advanced Instructor Course, Beckley, West Virginia with the United States Dept. of Labor, National Mine Health and Safety Academy. He also completed the Emergency Medical Technician, Ambulance on June 25, 1974.

“Sonny” always looked forward to going fishing and camping throughout many of the parks. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching games on television.

Visitation was held Friday, December 17, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, December 18, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, with Brother Tim Thebeau and Brother Jonathan Johnson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Brent Tinker, Brad Tinker, Kevin Malugen, Jacob Malugen, Mac McMahan, Garett Skaggs and Jordan Malugen.

He married Mable Lou Nicholson September 28, 1942 in Farmington, St Francois Co, MO. Mable was born August 25, 1926 in Potosi, Washington Co., MO. Mable was the daughter of William Sloman Nicholson and Edith Mae Dotson. Mable died January 14, 2014 in Potosi, Washington Co., MO. OBIT: Mabel Lou Tinker of Potosi, Missouri was born on Wednesday, August 25, 1926 in Potosi, Missouri a daughter of the late, Edith Mae (Dotson) Nicholson and William Sloman Nicholson. Mabel departed this life on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-five years, four months and twenty days.

Mabel was united in marriage to Cloied "Sonny" Tinker on September 28, 1942 in Farmington, Missouri and were blessed with two children.

Mabel is survived by one daughter, Beverly Flora and husband, Ernie of Lonedell, Missouri; one son, Larry Tinker and wife, Linda of Gilbert, Arizona; one sister, June Boyer and husband, John of Potosi, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kevin, Dana, Brent and Brad; eleven great-grandchildren: Jacob, Madison, Jordan, Garett, Olivia, Jared, Logan, Megan, Statton, Harrison and Kai; one great-great-grandchild, Kennadi; sister-in-law, Tommie Rowe of Potosi, Missouri; brother-in-law, Ed Rowe of Potosi, Missouri; also surviving are other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Cloied "Sonny" Tinker, four sisters, Helen Halley, Edith Mercer, Chloe Buxton, Mary Leah Boyer, brother, Stanley Nicholson, brother-in-law, Tom Rowe and sister-in-law, Glenda Rowe.

Mabel and Sonny were the owners and operators of Tinker Grocery Store for several years in the late 1940's and early 1950's. She also worked as a clerk in many area grocery stores and was an Avon sales representative for many years. Mabel loved to bake and share pies with her family and friends. She also loved to visit with anyone and spending time with her family and attending church at the Pleasant Hill Christian Church, Potosi, Missouri. Mabel was a very generous woman who would help anyone in need and will be very deeply missed by her family and friends.

Visitation was held Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Tim Thebeau and Reverend Carl Wilson officiating.e

Cloide (Sonny) Earstel Tinker and Mable Lou Nicholson had the following children:
