Ida died January 28, 2005 in Port Arthur, Jefferson Co., TX. OBIT: Services for Ida Lee Britt, of Nederland, Texas, were January 31 at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Nederland with burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas. Pat A. Riley Funeral Home in Nederland was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Britt, 70, died Jan. 28, 2005, at Park Place Medical Center in Port Arthur, Texas. She was born in Brookhaven on Dec. 25, 1934, to Carlos and Mary Lou Ratcliff.

She was a 1953 graduate of Lloyd Star High School. Mrs. Britt married her husband of 51 years, Charles E. Britt Sr. and they settled in Nederland in 1955 where they raised their family, but they maintained their Mississippi roots. She worked and retired as a bookkeeper with Retail Merchants Association in Port Arthur.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her brother, Shelby Ratcliff of Brookhaven.

Survivors are her her husband Charles E. Britt Sr. of Nederland; two sons, Charles E. Britt Jr. and Anthony C. Britt Sr., of Nederland; her daughter, Deborah Lee Hanley, of Mont Belvieu, Texas; her sisters, Iva Pearl Golman, Juanita Coone, Betty Lofton, Linda Weathersby and Margie Falvey, all of Brookhaven; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She married Charles Edward Britt May 19, 1952 in MS. Charles was born March 31, 1934. Charles was the son of Homer Landon Britt and Ida Corene Minton. Charles died September 20, 2008 in Nederland, Jefferson Co., TX. OBIT: Services for Charles Edward Britt Sr., of Nederland, Texas, are 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Brookhaven. Broussard Mortuary in Beaumont, Texas is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Britt, 74, died Sept. 14, 2008, at his residence. He was born on March 31, 1934 to Homer L. Britt and Ida Minton Britt.

He married Ida Lee Ratcliff on May 19, 1952 and moved to Texas in 1954, where his first son, Charles "Eddie" Edward Britt Jr. was born. He retired from the Firestone Rubber Company in Orange, Texas after 32 years of service and remained in Nederland, his hometown for 50 years. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Nederland also for 50 years, where he served as a deacon and church leader.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Ida Lee Ratcliff Britt; a brother, James Britt; and his sisters, Allie Mae Britt Gunnell, Betty Vee Britt Brewer and Dorthey Jean Britt Smith.

Survivors are his sons, Charles "Eddie" Edward Britt Jr. and Anthony Carlos Britt; a daughter, Deborah Lee Britt Hanley; his brothers, Clayton Britt and Tom Britt, both of Wesson; a sister, Lessie Carolyn Britt McCoy, of Bronson, Fla.; his 10 grandchildren; and his eight great-grandchildren.

Ida Lee Ratcliff and Charles Edward Britt had the following children:
