Ella died February 2, 2009 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Ella V. Newton Sandidge, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Lincoln County.
Visitation is 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sandidge, 88, died Feb. 2, 2009, at Golden Living Center- Brook Manor nursing facility. She went to be with her Lord with family members by her side. She was born on July 8, 1920, to Richard Elias Newton and Ruth Allgood Newton.
She was a homemaker, a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a member of Easthaven Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, LeRoy Scott Sandidge; her brothers, Richard Newton, Robert Newton and Marshall Newton; and three sisters, Annie Ruth Newton, Kathleen N. Driskill and Elsie N. Bowman.
Survivors include her sons, Mitchell Sandidge and his wife, Janice, of Little Rock, Ark., and Edward Sandidge and his wife, Ada, of Ocean Springs; her daughter, Patricia Butler and her husband, LeRoy, of West; two brothers Rosco Newton, of Centreville, and Sherman Newton, of Brookhaven; her sister, Nora Bell West, of Brookhaven; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five step-great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She married LeRoy Scott Sandidge. LeRoy was born Januay 4, 1908. LeRoy was the son of William Scott Sandidge JR and Nannie Jo Lane. LeRoy died October 7, 1970 in Lincoln Co., MS. Leroy was buried in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Lincoln Co., MS.
Ella Vee Newton and LeRoy Scott Sandidge had the following children:

25537 iv. Bobby Sandidge was born May 5, 1951. Bobby died May 5, 1951. The infant was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS.
