He married Juanita Joyce Thornton. Juanita was born December 8, 1927. Juanita was the daughter of Luther Thornton and Mary Catherine Reed. Juanita died September 14, 2005 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Juanita T. Smith, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 at Big Springs Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is today from 5 to 10 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Community Funeral Services. Mrs. Smith, 77, died Sept. 14, 2005, at King's Daughters Medical Center. She was born on Dec. 8, 1927, to Luther Thornton and Mary Reed Thornton. She was a homemaker and retired from Kellwood. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Okley Watson Smith; her son, Paul L. Smith; her daughter, Mary K. Smith; two sisters; and two brothers. Survivors are her daughters, Judy Boyd, and her husband, Jerry, of Ruth, Norma J. Kennison and her husband, Bobby, Linda D. Coon and Joyce Watts, all of Brookhaven; her sister, Margaret Lane, of Arkansas; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
