He married Lois Smith. Lois was born July 8, 1921. Lois was the daughter of Christopher Columbus Smith and Charlotte (Lottie) Smith. Lois died December 13, 2006 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Lois S. Farmer, 85, died Dec. 13, 2006, at Silver Cross Home in Brookhaven. Visitation is today, Dec. 15, 2006, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services are 1 p.m., today at the funeral home chapel, with burial in the Lakewood South Cemetery.
A native of Brookhaven, Mrs. Farmer spent the majority of her life in Jackson. She was a retired employee having worked for JCPenney for a number of years. Mrs.Farmer was a faithful and longtime member of Daniel Memorial Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for 18 years. After moving to Brookhaven, she joined Easthaven Baptist Church where she was a devoted member and loved her Sunday school class and was actively involved in their senior adult activities. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her faith in Christ was vital to her. Her favorite scripture was Proverbs 22:1: "A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favorrather than silver and gold." Survivors include her son, the Rev. Jerome Carroll Farmer and wife Pat, of Poplarville; her daughter, Kathy Bethea, of Brookhaven; her grandchildren, Justin Farmer and wife Sammi, Lacey Farmer, Jason Thomas Bethea and wife Rhiannon, William Jarod Barnes; and her great-grandchildren, Jenson Barousse and Mason Douglas Henry Bethea. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Farmer, who passed away in 1993.
