Claude Versie11 Smith (Versie C.10, William Albert Charlie9, Amanda Melvina (Vine)8, Priscilla7 Allgood, Wyatt6, William (Pikey) Henry5, William John4, Edward3, William2, Edward1 Algood) was born in Lincoln Co., MS November 23, 1909. Claude died August 22, 1986 in Jackson, Hinds Co, MS. OBIT: The sympathy of all in the community is with the shocked and saddened family of CLAUDE V. SMITH of Route 1, Wesson, who died on Aug. 22 in University Hospital, Jackson. He was 75 and died as a result of a one-vehicle accident. Services were held from the New Hope Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Barham and The Rev. Curtiss Lott officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Josie Lee Smith of Wesson; three sons, Jimmy Smith of Brandon (formerly of Wesson when he was a member of the faculty of Copiah-Lincoln Junior College), Jerry and Dale Smith, both of Loyd Star; a brother, Ray Smith; and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Smith, both of Brookhaven; seven grandchildren
He married Josie Vee McGee. Josie was born February 18, 1909. Josie was the daughter of John Wesley McGee and Mary Monette Byrd. Josie died August 18, 1991.
Claude Versie Smith and Josie Vee McGee had the following children:
