Rayford died January 18, 1990 in Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parrish. LA. OBIT: VAUGHAN SR., RAYFORD S. Died 12:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 1990, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 77, a native of Brookhaven, Miss., and resident of Baton Rouge. He was founder of Vaughn Roofing & Sheet Medal Co. in 1945 and retired in 1980. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday. International Order of the Odd Fellows services at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Religious services at noon Saturday at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Jim Bain.

Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by wife, Iva Vaughan; a daughter, Becky McCormick, Vicksburg, Miss.; two sons, Rayford S. "Sonny" Vaughan, Baton Rouge, and Tom Vaughan, Salt Lake City, Utah; a brother, Paul Vaughan; four sisters, Myrtis Fauver, Brookhaven, Louise Whitehead, Mobile, Ala., Monelle Smith and Laverne Carpenter, both of Natchez, Miss.; and seven grandchildren, Julie McCormick, Joe McCormick III, Sharye, Kevin, Michael, Christen and Heather Vaughan.

Preceded in death by parents, Clifton Leon and Ruth Buckles Vaughan; and two brothers, Homer and Charles Vaughan. Pallbearers will be Kevin Vaughan, Michael Vaughan, Jack Kellogg, Bill Higgins, Joe McCormick III and James Persons. He was a member of Istrouma Baptist Church, active member of International Order of Odd Fellows more than 35 years, having served as past Noble Grand of Desota Lodge of Baton Rouge and Livingston Lodge No. 8 of Denham Springs, past Grand Master of International Order of Odd Fellows of Louisiana and a representative to the sovereign grand lodge of the world. He was a 32nd degree Mason, member of East Gate Masonic Lodge and Sons of Confederate Veterans.

He married Iva Mae Seale May 6,1939 in Jackson, Hinds Co, MS. Iva was born April 25, 1915 in Roxie, Franklin Co., MS. Iva was the daughter of Wright Covington Seale and Ethel Katherne Hunt. Iva died February 9, 2002 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., UT.

Rayford Sidney Vaughn and Iva Mae Seale had the following children:
