Johnny died February 11, 2006 in Sontag, Lawrence Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Johnny Thompson, of Sontag, are 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13 at Johnson Grove Church of Christ with burial in Wellman Cemetery. Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 to 12 p.m. at Harrigill Funeral Home. Mr. Thompson, 62, died Feb. 11, 2006, at his residence. He was born in Lincoln County on Nov. 13, 1943, to Johnny Alexander Thompson and Para Lee Smith Thompson. He was a retired lieutenant with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department and a Lincoln County Jail administrator. He was a member of Wellman Baptist Church. He was a veteran of Vietnam. Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Versie Winfred "Buddy" Thompson, and Robert L. Thompson; and his sister, Geneva Lee Cockerham. Survivors are his wife, Gail Thompson, of Sontag; his son, Johnny Carroll Thompson and his wife, Melissa J., of Bogue Chitto; his daughter, Melissa Gail Craft and her husband, Paul Craft Jr., of Sontag; his brothers, Lloyd Thompson and Gene Thompson, both of Bogue Chitto, and Nelson Thompson, of Monticello; his sisters, Ruby Watts, of Brookhaven, and Peggy Lee, of Monticello; and his grandchildren, Johnny Bradon "Brady" Thompson, Makayla Elizabeth Craft and Chase Alexander Thompson.
