Hayden died April 19, 2016 in Smithdale, Amite Co., MS. OBIT: Hayden S. Parsons, 82, of Smithdale, MS., died peacefully on April 19, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be Friday April 22, 2016 from 9 AM until services at 11 AM at the Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Luke Addison will officiate and burial will be in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Hartman Funeral Home of McComb will be in charge of arrangements.
Hayden was born on February 23, 1934 in Lincoln Co., MS. He was the son of the late, Lonnie and Lucille Smith Parsons.
Hayden was a Gas Service Tech, a member of the Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church and served in the Army National Guard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a very talented man. He loved to make anyone and everyone around him laugh. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, L. W. Parsons; brother in-law, Ernie Shaw; one grandson, Austin Wilkinson. He was also preceded by his loving dog "Buddy".
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 happy years, Allawana Lewis Parsons; two sons, Lance Parsons (Lanell) and Tony Parsons (Elizabeth Ann); one daughter, Tonya Parsons Wilkinson (Dwayne); ten grandchildren, Joshua Parsons, Matthew Parsons, Elizabeth Parsons, Derek Parsons (Amber), Eric Parsons (Kelly), Daniel Parsons (Lauren), Cody Wilkinson, Katie Touchstone (Matthew), Breana Beasley, Wren Beasley; 10 great-grandchildren. He was also survived by two sisters Geraldine Scott (Jim) and Dianne Shaw.
Pallbearers will be Derek Parsons, Daniel Parsons, Eric Parsons, William Parsons, Cody Wilkinson, and Lance Prestridge.
Hayden Smith Parsons and Alowanna Lewis had the following children:
