He married Monteith Covington. Monteith was born Augut 10, 1920 in Kirby, Franklin Co., MS. Monteith was the daughter of Robert Towns Covington and Iva Forrest McLemore. Monteith died March 23, 2003 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Monteith C. Smith of Brookhaven were 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 26, at New Sight Baptist Church with burial in New Sight Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Smith, 82, died March 23, 2003, at King's Daughters Medical Center. She was born in Kirby on Aug. 10, 1920, to Robert T. Covington and Iva Forrest McLemore Covington. She was retired from Stahl Urban. She was a member of New Sight Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, former pianist, and was a member of the JOY Club and the WMU. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Donald Smith; her grandson, Mike Case; her sister, Charlene Boyte; and her brother, George Covington. Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Donis and David Case of Brookhaven; her nephews, Dennis Boyte of Winnsboro, La. and Robbie Boyte of Houston, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
